Hi aspirant!
Yes, you are correct. BA Psychology is more popular than BSc Psychology.
BA Psychology: With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, the candidate is eligible to become a Psychologist/Therapist, Counselor, School Psychologist and more. You will be giving therapies to various clients, help in with diagnosis of the client, run various research methods, and will help them get better mentally. But, you will NOT get to deal with drugs, you CANNOT prescribe medicine to the client, if it is needed.
BSc Psychology: BSc Psychology opens your door to become a Psychiatrist, who actually deal with patients who have any sort of mental illness. They get to treat patients with a more medical aspect, not just talking to them or giving them therapies, but prescribing them required drugs/medicines, if needed.
BA Psychology is more popular because for pursuing a BA, you don't have to have any prior related knowledge. Everything taught will begin from A, whereas in BSc Psychology, you will get terms that are highly related to the previous field, ie, Biology.
Also, the decision of pursuing a BA or BSc depends upon the candidate.
Hope this helps you get a clear image of both courses.
Regards!
