Dear aspirant,
This is one of the most trending questions regarding which the aspirants are worried. To be honest the exact cut-off of any exam can never be predicted before seeing the question paper. NEET Cutoff 2020 will vary on different factors as per the categories. The cutoff for NEET 2020 will depend upon how the exam will be conducted, how many aspirants will appear for the exam, difficulties level and many more. What I believe is that the cut-off will increase as compared to what it would have been if the NEET exam would have been conducted on time. The reasons are as follows:-
- NEET has been postponed for 19 weeks, this is a huge bonus specially for the current year aspirants. They must have studied hard. In 19 weeks, someone can really turn the things around.
- I agree that most of the students have not utilized their time to the fullest. They have wasted time worrying about their future or may be on social media and gaming. But, remember one thing that this is a cut-throat competition in which every single marks matters. Even if 2-3 thousand aspirants would have studied properly then the cut-off will shoot rapidly because the seats are only about 14–15 thousand.
- The students are mostly practicing a lot of questions, this would have boosted their confidence which will help them score better in the exam.
So I believe that the cut-off will surely increase as compared to what it would have been if NEET was conducted on time.
Hope this information helps you
Good luck!
Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. It also depends on the no.of seats available. If the no.of seats available are higher then the cut offs are lesser and vice versa. Now the students not able to utilise the extended 5 months period cannot be attributed to pandemic. They had 5 months longer than usual time to prepare from the comforts of their houses. There might be other reasons as to why Candidates couldnt utilize their time. They might be distraction, lack of interest, etc. But there have been Candidates who utilised this time. The competition is going to be tough this year which means, the cut offs are going to increase considerably.
