Correct Answer: $\frac{13}{40}$

Solution : Girls' participation in social camp = $\frac{1}{5}$
Boys' participation in social camp = $\frac{1}{8}$
Total number of students = LCM of 5 and 8 = 40
Total students participated in social camp$ = \frac{8+5}{40} = \frac{13}{40}$
Hence, the correct answer is $\frac{13}{40}$.
