Correct Answer: 88,200

Solution : Total votes = 150000
Invalid votes = 2% of the total votes
The winner got = 60% of the valid votes
Total valid votes = $150000 \times \frac{100−2}{100}$ = $150000 \times \frac{98}{100} = 147000$
$\therefore$ Votes polled in favor of the candidate = $\frac{60}{100}\times147000 = 88200$
Hence, the correct answer is 88,200.
