Correct Answer: 50

Solution : Let $x$ be the total number of votes.
Number of votes P got = 40% of $x$
Number of votes Q got = 60% of $x$
Margin = 10
⇒ $0.6x - 0.4x = 10$
⇒ $0.2 x = 10$
⇒ $x = \frac{10}{0.2}$
⇒ $x= 50$
Hence, the correct answer is 50.
