Correct Answer: 2846

Solution : Votes secured by the first candidate = 76% of the total number of votes
Votes secured by the second candidate = (100 – 76)% = 24% of the total number of votes
Majority = (76 – 24) = 52% of the total number of votes
So, 52% of the total number of votes = 1480 votes
Therefore, the total number of votes = $\frac{1480 × 100}{52}$ = 2846.15 $\approx$ 2846
Hence, the correct answer is 2846.
