In business school for mba admission they will consider gp score in ug or gmat score. Which score is more important
Answer (1)
For MBA admission in various b-schools there are various MBA exams happen like CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, CET. Every college has its own priority to choose which exams marks for giving admission to students in their college.
So first you need to give the MBA exam, one or more exams it's all your wish and also depends on which college entrance you are focussing and what are its priorities.
After you give the exam and apply in a college for admission then every college prepare a merit list to call students for next round of interview and WSAT. This merit list is based on your aggregate score which comprises of many factors such as MBA exam (CAT, XAT, GMAT etc.) marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer, extra curriculars with different weightages for different colleges. In this merit list generally MBA exams have highest weightage.
If you pass the cut off then you are called for next round abd after that round again a new merit list is made including interview and WSAT marks which along with MBA exam marks generally have highest weightage.
So in short both your GMAT marks and CGPA in UG both are important to taking admission in any b-school. Of course GMAT exam marks has more weightage but without a good CGPA it becomes a little difficult for you to get admission. Then you would need to score much more than what needed in GMAT exam in order to cover the loss due to academic records.
All the best!!
