Yes it is necessary to qualify for medical exam before joining the job under ssc chsl because this leads to a checking of your mental stability physical disability check eye sight and checking of your full body to check of any viral disease that make disturbance during your work and your colleagues durinv working period of job under ssc chsl .
And there is skill test before medical checkup if you are passed in skill test then you will qualify for medical test .

if you are talking about medical test before joing then yes. because you must have a good vision and no health issue to get job and you can do your work in a good manner. so its clearly yes you need to qualify medical test before your joining in chsl but under some condition it may be alter.
