Yes you can change your branch after completion of first year.Most colleges offer this . COMEDK colleges also allow branch change after first year. Usually there are some determining factors set by the college which you need to fulfill.

Firstly you require a minimum cgpa which is set by college in order for branch change.You need a higher or equal to this cgpa . Secondly ,the number of seats available in the particular branch.Moreover there can be more criterion fixed by the institutes separately.For detailed information kindly contact your academics department.

Branch change after 2nd semester of engineering (1st year) will depend upon the college authorities, even if you get admission through COMED-K or without it. First of all, you will need to score very well (9.5 CGPA and above) to be eligible for branch change. Some institutes may even ask for higher CGPA. Secondly, there must be a vacant seat available in the branch you want to switch to. If it's a college were admissions are 100% full, then it may be difficult. Most engineering colleges do allow branch change if these two requirements are met.
