Both Artificial Intelligence and Data Science are equally enticing options to choose for career.
Data Science is a multidisciplinary blend of data inference, algorithm development, and technology in order to solve analytically complex problems whereas AI systems will typically demostrate planning, learning, reasoning, problem solving, knowledge representation, perception, motion, and manipulation, social intelligence and creativity. Machine learing is the science of getting computers to act without bring explicitly programmed. It is so pervasive today that you probably use it dozens of times a day without knowing it.
So you can go for any of them. Both are equally important and efficient. You can choose any of them as per your interest.
