CSE is the mother branch and IT is the child branch. Main difference between both branches is that CS is focused on both Hardware + Software while IT is focused on software i.e. programming only.



However, in the term of opportunities, almost all companies allow both CS and IT branch to sit for placements for software developer and other such profiles.
