In Electronics & Communication and Electronic & Telecommunication , Which steam is better and why ?
It depends on your interest and only you can decide which branch is better for you.
First let us understand the difference between these two engineering branches. Both Electrical Engineering & Electronics and Communication engineering are the core engineering branch. Generally in electrical engineering you study about the power system, electrical machines, power electronics, switch gear and protection, Network or circuit theory and EMFT. While in ECE you generally study about analog and digital electronics, analog & digital communications, microprocessor and microcontrollers, EMFT and wave theory, signal & system. However there are some subjects like control system, measurements and instrumentations are common to both EE and ECE.
Sound mathematical background is required for electrical engineering. Now, if you are asking the question from job point of view. Then let me clarify that both electrical engineers and electronics and communication engineers have immense job opportunity in both private as well as public sector. However an electrical engineer have slight advantage as compared to electronics and communication engineers in the field of public sector owing to large nos. of PSUs in INDIA in the field of energy and power system. In ECE student may also get jobs in govt. sector like in BEL, ISRO etc.
Apart from the above, both electrical engineers and electronics and communication engineers can give ESE examination and can get good techno administrative job in indian railways, IOFS, CEA etc. The vacancies in ESE are comparable in both electrical engineering and electronics and communication engineering.
In addition to above both electrical engineers and electronics and communication engineers are eligible for UPSC CSE exams. However only electrical engineering is available as an optional subject in UPSC CSE Examination.
The most important point is to pursue from top univesity like LPU.
Now you may decide which branch is better for you.
Thanks
Hello student, hope you are doing well!
There is very little difference between ECE and Telecom engineering, to be honest. If you go through the syllabus of Telecommunication engineering of a reputed state college, you will see the curriculum is almost similar compared to that of ECE. Both branches have programming electives as well as core electives. There might be one or two communication subjects extra in telecom engineering.
Electronic and Communication Engineers can join the job market of almost any other engineering field. Whereas, the rest of the engineers can opt only restricted job options in their field. The fact is clear that ECE does have a lot of scope. So, my opinion would go for ECE if you get a good college for it.

On the other side, a electronics and telecommunication engineer is reliable for constructing and supervising the building of telecommunications equipment and facilities. So, you will have more opportunities in the telecom field only. But if you are getting telecom engineering in better college(with good faculty and placement) than the one which you get for ECE, then go for Telecom engineering. The reason is the top electronics companies will come only for top colleges. Good colleges have many elective options. And that will serve you many benefits.
