Solution : Let $x$ be the number of sharpeners he buys. According to the question, $10\times 8 + 10\times 5 + x\times 4 = 150$ ⇒ $80+50+4x = 150$ ⇒ $4x = 150 - 130 = 20$ $\therefore x = 5$ Average price of per item = $ \frac{150}{10+10+5} = 6$ Hence, the correct answer is 6.
