EWS is the category only ( economically backward section) and crl is the common rank list.
There is no such set allotment basis on the category or anything . The exam is equal for every one and after that you get a rank according to your marks/ percentile in exam.
And crl is your common rank which is that rank when you donot consider any category means that all are considered general .
EWS rank is the rank in your EWS category only. There are some seats reserved for the EWS category which give power to the EWS category students because even if your rank is not better than 2nd person but you have a EWS category quota than you will get the seat in that college instead of that 2nd person if seat under your quota is vacant in that college.
