Every Private Medical College has 3 types of seats. Government Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota. In Maharashtra, there are 19 Government Medical Colleges, 1 Government Aided College, 5 Muncipal Corporation Colleges, 18 self financing Colleges and 1 Minority College in Maharashtra. Approximately 40-50% of the seats in Private Medical Colleges are Government Quota seats. Including both Government Medical College seats and Government Quota seats from Government Aided College and Self financing colleges, the total no.of Government Quota seats are approximately 4330. There are approximately 2220 seats under Management Quota. The fees structure for Government Quota seat in Private Medical Colleges is approximately Rs.1,50,000 per year excluding the miscellaneous charges.
