in maharshtra counselling if we don't fill retention form then are we going to get a medical college better than the previous medical college (in first round) or we can get the medical college which are in our lower preferences, exactly what are the benefits of retention form not filling?
Hello,
If a candidate is allotted a seat in the first round, who has joined in the allotted the college accordingly and is satisfied with the allotment, such a candidate must submit a Status-Retention Form in the given format in Annexure-J on or before prescribed date with the Dean of the College where such a seat has been allotted to such a candidate. Candidate who has submitted status retention forms will not be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of the counselling. So, you need to fill status retention only if you are satisfied and willing to get admission in the allotted institute. If you are not satisfied you do not have to fill status retention form and you can participate in subsequent rounds. You will be considered for betterment. Betterment implies that you are not satisfied with the allotted institute and you are willing to participate in subsequent round in order to get seat in a higher preference of choice. The lower choices will not be considered for betterment. You cannot add fresh choices in the subsequent rounds. An attempt will be made to allot seat in the higher preference if you are eligible.
