There is no best specialization as such. It depends upon where your interests lie. I can give you a brief idea about the different domains in MBA but the choice is entirely yours.

Sales and Marketing basically deals with marketing or selling any product or service to consumers. Sales is more of a push where you deal with distributors and retailers and other members in the channel through which your product reaches the consumers where as marketing is more about generating the pull from the consumer side. For that there are marketing campaigns developed by marketeers and schemes and promotions run by people in sales.

Finance as a domain has a lot of roles. You mostly work with the money involved in organizations. For example where to invest, from where will then one you come for investing, how to find the risk associated and so on. It is not limited to this but you get an idea.

Consulting is basically solving problems for others. Other did come to you with a problem and you analyse it and propose solutions.

Operations as the name suggests deals with running the operations part of a firm. HR is human resources which is managing the employees in an organization.

This is just a brief idea of what the domains are. You can see where your interest lies and decide accordingly.

It totally depends on your interest since all the streams have excellent opportunities. If you are not sure which stream to pursue you should go for a general management program which includes basics of all streams in the first year and in the second year you need to choose your specialisation.

Various specialisations in MBA are:

MBA finance:  It is a career field which requires one to possess skills in mathematics, economics, and financial theory, all of which are covered in great detail in a finance degree, specialization or track.

An MBA in finance balances mathematical rigor with management classes, and can be a good way to direct your career towards c-suite jobs in finance.

MBA Marketing: If you are interested in the entertainment, media, promotions, advertisement, sales and general management field, then the MBA is appropriate for you.

The marketing is the heart of any organization. The trend of marketing has changed and augmented with the technological evolution in the world.

MBA Operations: Operations management is chiefly concerned with planning, organizing and supervising in the contexts of production, manufacturing or the provision of services. As such, it is delivery-focused, ensuring that an organization successfully turns inputs to outputs in an efficient manner. The inputs themselves could represent anything from materials, equipment and technology to human resources such as staff or workers.

MBA Strategic Management : It offers a solid foundation in business strategy as it applies to competitive businesses, corporate diversification, and government institutions. Skill in adapting to evolving business environments and Changing laws.

MBA HR: Students in an MBA program with a focus in human resource management can take courses in business strategies and concepts as well as corporate headhunting, benefits analysis, compensation management, and business coaching. Coursework typically involves basic business concepts and human resource-specific topics.

MBA IT and Analytics:

If you throw in all of new tech startups and IT based companies that have recently cropped up  and the potential ones waiting to be founded  then an MBA in IT begins to look like it has truly cemented its place in the pantheon of MBA specializations. Companies need flexible minds to deal with both the business and technical sides of the business coin.
