In mechanical engineering placement is good or average
Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branch of engineering course and it has evergreen opportunity that will never fade up.As you have asked about placement statics so your placement also vary from your college.
Students from IIT,NIT,IIIT,etc get good placement every year with fine package but I would like to say that the placement in core job have not package like other branchs CSE,ECE,IT as these are high rated.
But mechanical have also good scope in government field also so all depends on individual choice.

Me mechanical engineering is an evergreen branch and it will always be in demand. The issue is many students opt for the branch and thus the competition increases tremendously and so from outside it seems to be a less placed branch. Placement of mechanical has no high packages like CSE but yes if you are doing it from iits, good nits then yes you will definitely get placed with good package.

This question might vary from college to college. Nowadays mechanical engineering is preferred by some selected students in low ranking colleges and a good amount of students in high ranking government colleges like IIT, NIT and IIIT's. The placement in IIT's is usually above 20lpa and lower ranking colleges usually around 3-4lpa. I hope this information was helpful!
