In NEET CODE 2 they've mentioned additional biology. Ik it means that pcm from one board and additional biology from another board. But my question is if I appear for only paper(bio) through NIOS ode i'll get a single subject certificate. Is that enough to be eligible for neet?

Hi

Yes, yes you would be eligible for NEET even if you pass Biology as an additional /optional single subject from NIOS after your 12th pcm.

This is because,

As of now the eligibility of students with Biology as an additional / optional subject is in the supreme court but until it gives its judgement students, these students are eligible for neet

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

-----------)Qualification required:-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible you must be either appearing for 12th board examination or should have passed 12th board examinationwith physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

Important Note :- Students who have passed Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement.

-----------)Percentage required:- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

-----------)Age limit:-to be eligible for neet one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination . There is no upper age limit as of now becausethe case of upper age limit of 25 years is pending in supreme court since 2018.

Thank you very much for your kind explanation.
And also Ive another doubt, which roll number should I enter in neet application either my state board roll no or NIOS roll no?
If I give NIOS roll no how do they know that I've passed the remaining subjects ie physics, chemistry, English?
And in neet counselling there won't be any problem ryt due to this additional subject?

Swetha Madhanmohan While filling the form one needs to fill her / her class 12 Roll number. Thus, you need fill the Roll number which you have on your class 12th certificate and not the Roll number which you have on the certificate of single subject Biology  additional . . During document verification you will have to carry both certificates.
