The percentage of getting a placement is higher in case of chemical engineering than civil engineering.
Else everything depends on your area of interest i.e. in which field you want to make your career. If you are considering the placements part only, then you may go with Chemical Engineering.

According to placement data available, although not quite confirmed on official website, the statistics are as follows: For 2020 Placement Drive in NIT-Surathkal, 84.85% student were placed from Chemical Engineering batch.
74.65% student were placed from Civil Engineering batch. Top legacy recruiters like ISRO, BEL, BEL-CRL, GAIL etc participated in the placement process of 2021. You can get more information on our website .
