I am not sure about nanotechnology being included in the nuclear research. Because Nanotechnology usually involves study of nuclear magnetic resonance which includes the magnetic properties to atomic nuclei to form medical images through Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It is used to diagnose Alzheimer's disease.
