First of all you must mention the examination name that for which qualifying exam you are talking about.
Now assuming that you want to ask about jee mains qualifying exam, then from this year, the class 12th board marks have been given a relaxation.
Now you will have to only pass the class 12th exam irrespective of your percentage and secure a good score in jee mains for nits.
For getting admision in nits you must have to qualify jee mains with a good rank, but this year there is no such rule that you have to secure 75% in class 12th exams.
Now if you have qualified jee mains examination then you are eligible to give jee advanced and in jee advanced your jee mains rank or score is of no value.
Because you have to secure a good rank in jee advanced, for getting admission in iits. And your jee main marks will not be considered. Only your jee advanced marks will be considered but you have to pass your class 12th exam irrespective of your aggregate percentage to become eligible for getting admission in iits.
