Hi there
NITK for Civil Engineering:
Placements are quite decent in NITK. The placements are surely satisfying here for civil engineering. This year placement was 67%, but you have to consider that in civil, many people go for further studies and hence don't take campus placements. So that's a decent percent if you compare other top colleges too. Average package in civil was around Rs. 6 lakhs per annum this year and the highest was around Rs. 13 lakhs per annum. So if you have some data about placements in the civil branch even from IIT's, you will definitely find these numbers good. Here, L&T was the major recruiter in general. More than 30 students grabbed the top internships in the third year, and nearly 60% students got a direct internship from this college. There is a placement cell too which is quite useful and helps you in grabbing good packages if you really want one.
RVCE for CSE:
In terms of placements, RVCE is at the top in Karnataka. For branches like CSE, ISE, & ECE, the average packages go around 8-9 LPA. The highest in the 2017-18 batch was 39.1 LPA by a CSE student. This is very good in comparison to last year's data because last year, the highest package offered was 27 LPA, again for a CSE student. Almost 95% of eligible students of CSE get placed and some prefer higher studies rather than getting placed. In ECE, almost 94% students got placed, and the same is the case with ISE. For other branches also, placement percentage is very good as compared with other colleges of Karnataka.
Now, its up to you which course you prefer and interested in. Hope this helps in making your decision.
Good luck!
