Yes it is required at the counselling time to verify/check that whether your class 12th board exams marks fulfill their eligibility criteria or not.But it's only a simple process and not more than that.They will verify your marksheets and nothing more than that.

Now, moving up to your question i would like to let you know that defenetly the details of class 12 is required for further determination of your academic chronology.
But do remember that there will be no reltaion with your admission in a good college with your 12 marks either good or bad.It is used just as a verification tool.
