If you are talking about blue chip companies and investments like that, they might provide you with a good recovery rate even in the short run because of their high revenue generation methodology as compared to their initial investment.
But, most of the companies and startups look for a longer goal in their sights while making economic profit so that it doesn't change their present and future market cap even by inflation.
