Correct Answer: 82 : 111
Solution : Given: The ratio of Aluminium to Zinc in two alloys is $5: 6$ and $3: 5$. 242 kg of the first alloy to be taken. Aluminium in the first alloy = $\frac{5}{5+6}×242=110$ kg Zinc in the first alloy = $\frac{6}{5+6}×242=132$ kg 144 kg of the second alloy to be taken. Aluminium in the second alloy = $\frac{3}{3+5}×144=54$ kg Zinc in the second alloy = $\frac{5}{3+5}×144=90$ kg The ratio of Aluminium and Zinc in the new alloy = (110 + 54) : (132 + 90) = 164 : 222 = 82 : 111 So, the ratio of Aluminium and Zinc in the new alloy will be 82 : 111. Hence, the correct answer is 82 : 111.
