In UPSC prelims there are 2 subjects - General Studies and Civil Services Aptitude Test .In UPSC main there are 9 papers and this includes 2 qualifying papers and the rest 7 papers are calculated for ranking. UPSC also provides optional subject , candidates have to choose one optional for the mains exam .The optional consists of 2 papers and each paper considers for 250 marks. Aspirants are allowed to choose from the list of optional subjects and it also includes literature subjects like English and Indian languages. So, you will not face any problem in doing your job after completion . Best of luck
