Hello Ravi,

VITEEE is the exam conducted by the VIT University, for getting admitted to the four campuses of VIT that is the Vellore, Chennai, Amravathi, and Bhopal. The rank that you get is a general rank and based on that, the counseling is carried out.

You must be aware of the category system in VIT. The system is such that if a candidate with a high rank wants a more preferred branch at the more preferred campus, he/she can opt for a higher category. Higher category increases your basic tuition fee structure but gives you the brach of your choice. For example: suppose you get a rank of 30k and you want the most preferred branch that is CSE at the Vellore campus. But the closing rank or cut-off of the CSE branch at VIT Vellore Campus is 6k, so you may jump to a higher category for which the cut-off increases ( let 8k). Similarly, there are more than 4 categories for each campus and for all the respective branches.

According to past results, you can get ECE in category 2 (most probably) while there are little chances to get ECE in the Vellore campus in category 1. But ECE in category 3 is for sure at the Vellore campus.

In case you want to opt for the Chennai campus, you will surely get ECE branch in category 2, while there are good chances that you will get ECE in category 1.

Now coming to the third campus, which is the Amravathi campus, for that campus, you will surely get ECE in the first category, and you can expect yourself to be in the top batch of ECE in the campus.

Last is the Bhopal campus. This is the campus where most of the students you will find will be with a rank above 1 lakh or 80k. Therefore, you will surely get ECE here.

I am providing you just an estimate about the category fees:

Vellore campus- tuition fee for category 1: around 2 lakh per anum, for category 2: 3 lakh per anum, for category 3: 3.5 lakh per anum

Chennai campus: tuition fee for category 1 will be almost the same.

Bhopal campus: tuition fees will be slightly more as the fee for all the branches is slightly high because of greater facilities and opportunities provided here.

All the data provided above is completely based on predictions and pas year cut-offs and results, therefore there might be a slight variation among the cut-offs.

Hope this helps

Regards.
