As you know BAMS is the course which gives us knowledge about our ancient science . And as before Sanskrit was the main language that's why sanskrit is main to study BAMS . But as some of the universities also offers English for better understanding of the student . And if we consider about the syllabus then in 1st yr as you Sanskrit , Ashtang Hridya and Padarth Vigyan which is in hindi and as well in Sanskrit both . Further for Kriya Shariya and Rachna Sharir you have to study both the concepts like in ayurved also and also in modern concept which Mbbs students used to study like Physiology and Anatomy .

The most common medium of instruction is English. there are some institutions that prefer Hindi as well. During BAMS you will also learn Sanskrit since ayurvedic scriptures and ancient books are mostly in sanskrit languages. There are a few translated versions of these ancient books but the original books gives a lot of insights.

BAMS or Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is a 5.5 years long graduate degree that covers the study of the integrated system of modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda.
This subjects you will read in only English language but state wise they will might bit little bit discusses in regionals languages.

the basic language you have to know for BAMS is sanskrit . you must have some knowledge of susbject ... however the langauge in which bams is taught varies with region. it could be hindi , gujrati etc .
also you can study bams in english with the help of translations
