in which case kinetic friction is equal to static friction?
Hello Aspirant,
Kinetic Friction is also referred to as dynamic friction, is the force that resists the relative movement of the surfaces once they're in motion. The static friction between two surfaces is always higher than the kinetic friction.
The coefficient of static friction is always greater than or equal to u (k) but if an object is at rest the static friction is equal to the external force applied in the line of motion . Kinetic friction arises only when there is a relative motion between two bodies and is constant.
I hope your question has been answered properly.
All the best!
