India has tremendous potential in non- conventional sources of energy. elucidate the statement with suitable examples.
Hi Arsh,
A conventional source of energy is that source of energy that can't renew itself over time and it is used widely in these times, if we kept using it than this will come to an end.
A non-conventional source of energy is that source of energy which renews itself over time, if we keep using that source that it would never come to an end.
India has a vast potential of producing electricity by use of non-conventional or renewable sources. It has tremendous water resources that can be used to produce hydroelectricity easily. These resources are cheap, pollution free and can be used again and again. These resources can be used in Electricity generation, Water heating or cooling, Transporting, Rural use. Some non-conventional sources are - Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Tidal Energy, Geothermal Energy, Biomass.
Types of conventional sources of energy include coal, petroleum, natural gas. India also have vast possibilities in this sector also as we have large stocks of coal in some parts if the country and vast quantity of petroleum in Barmer and other areas.
I hope this helps you.
Good Luck!
