Hello,
Butyric acid is produced at the industrial scale via mainly a chemical synthesis. This involves the oxidation of butyraldehyde, which is obtained from propylene derived from crude oil by oxosynthesis . Another method for butyric acid preparation is its extraction from butter. But this process is difficult and expensive. Another way is the fermentation process.
I hope this will help you
Thank you.

Hello Dear,

As one of the short-chain fatty acids generated by bacterial fermentation of dietary fibers in the colon, butyric acid is a main energy source for human body and also marked as a suppressor of colon cancer. Butyric acid is produced at the industrial scale via mainly a chemical synthesis. This involves the oxidation of butyraldehyde, which is obtained from propylene derived from crude oil by oxosynthesis.

Good Luck
