• You have passed graduation in engineering or technology or Master's degree in any related science subject.
• If you are in the pre- final or final year of qualifying degree, then also you can take this exam.

If you are planning to join an M.Tech after post graduation degree in MCA.

If you want to join PhD in IITs or IISc, you can appear:

• UGC NET JRF in Computer Science.
• GATE Computer Science.

GATE eligiblity criteria for non- engineering candidates

• 2nd and 3rd year MCA students are eligible for GATE.
• 1st and 2nd year MSc students are eligible for GATE, based on qualifying degree
• BSc. BCA and BCS (a three years degree) students are not eligible.
