Hello Balraj,

The term 'international law' was coined by a philosopher named Jeremy Bentham from England. He first used this term in 1780 . The law of nations is often said to be synonymous with international law. It's a set of norms and guidelines for how nations should behave and interact with one another on the global stage. To put it simply, international law is the body of norms recognized and acknowledged as legally binding among nations. It is the backbone upon which the maintenance of peaceful and orderly global relationships rest. The focus of international law is on states rather than individuals, which sets it apart from domestic law.

Note: 'State' is the word used when talking about countries under international law.

I hope this helped. Good luck!
