Syllabus-wise, Literary Aptitude contains a wide array of literatures that includes -
- Canonical British literature
- American
- Indian
- African
(Indeed the wider variety of Postcolonial Literatures in English that includes Australian, Canadian and Caribbean literatures)
- European literatures
- literatures of the Americas (South and Latin Americas), emerging literatures and literatures in translation.
However, preparation-wise Literary Aptitude is about how well you understand and appreciate literary works. This concerns a deep reading of literature, and, as such, the tests allow an examination of how well you have understood the salient aspects of any literary work or genre or strand.
