Hello Aspirant,
See class 12th marks in nowhere necessary for appearing in JEE-Main 2022 but as you have asked for IIT then let me tell you that IITs offer admission to their B.Tech courses on the basis of only JEE-Advance score and in usual circumstances there is 75% criteria in class 12th for qualifying JEE-Main and to be eligible for admission to IITs along with JEE-Advance score, but during 2020 and 2021 the 75% criteria has been removed due to the pandemic named COVID-19and for 2022 it is to early to say anything or predict anything because it totally depends upon the circumstances of 2022. If everything goes normal then the 75% criteria will be restored, according to which the candidate should have minimum 75% in his/her class 12th to be eligible for JEE-Advance and for admission to NITs/IIITs/IITs/CFTIs.
B.Tech/B.Arch Admissions OPEN
So it is recommended that one should try to secure more than 75% in class 12th so that even if the 75% criteria is restored then also you will not face any problem.
Now, If you want to sit for JEE-Advance 2022 then you should qualify some of the eligibility criteria which are described below :-
> You should have passed your class 12th or equivalent in 2021 or should be appearing in 2022.
> You should first of all sit for JEE-Main 2022 and try to clear the qualifying cut-off for your category, the qualifying cut-off is released along with the final result of JEE-Main of all attempts.
> Qualification for JEE-Advance for different categories will take place as per the fixed quota which is mentioned below if there will be no change in 2022 :-
You can get complete information about eligibility criteria of JEE-Advance from the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.

Hello,
Admission in to IITs is based on merit in JEE Advanced. Earlier the eligibility criteria to get admission in to IITs the candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board. Candidates belonging to general category must have scored minimum 75% aggregate marks and for SC/ST it is 65% aggregate marks. Candidates fulfilling the criteria and qualifying in JEE Advanced were eligible to get admission in IITs. But for JEE Advanced 2021 the minimum percentage requirement is wavied due to corona so candidates must pass in the qualifying exam and JEE Advanced to get admission in IIT. As of now there isn't any information if there will be relaxation for JEE Main 2022 and JEE Advanced 2022 as it depends on the situation at that time.
There is no minimum percentage criteria to appear for JEE Main. A candidate must have passed in 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board. To get admission to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs the candidate must score minimum 75% aggregate marks if he/she belongs to general category and for SC/ST it is minimum 65% aggregate marks. But the minimum percentage criteria is relaxed for admission to B.E/B.Tech in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs for JEE Main 2021. Similar to JEE Advanced there isn't any information if it will be relaxed for JEE Main 2022. SO to know you have to wait until there is an announcement regarding the relaxation of minimum percentage requirement.
