Irrespective of the branch,In the first and second semester of Engineering, subjects are same in every college. there will be a change in some subjects like optional subjects such as Environment science and Ethics which are non technical. But subjects like Physics, Mathematics, chemistry, English,C programming , Engineering Drawing are common for all streams.In the second semester you will come across one core subject of particular stream .

It will hard to say that all the colleges would have the same syllabus for the first and the second semesters , but most of them do to quite an extent .

Now as for the subjects it not all same . I mean sone subjects are same for some branches while others are different , for eg , civil enginering was one of my subjects , but it was common for civil, metallurgy and pi and other branches did had to study it.

Whereas there are subjects like engineering drawing which was common for almost every branches .

No the first and second sem is totally different to every college. It totally depends on which college the college is affiliated to. If it is deemed university then it will makes it own academic curriculum ,syllabus and exams.
