5*100/2*x=40
250/40=x
X= 6.25

Let the number be X
Then according to the questions 5/2%of the given number is 40.
So Mathematically we can write (5/2)X/100=40
x=4000*2/5
X=8000/5
X=1600
Therefore the value of required answer is X equal to 1600
