Dear Shivam, there are 2 things to this. First AIIMS will no more conduct it's entrance examination from 2020. The admissions to AIIMS New Delhi and all of its 15 branches will happen through NEET exam. Second, because NEET is the entrance examination, the percentiles will no longer be in use. We are yet to know how the admissions will take place but for now what we are sure is that there is no AIIMS and percentile.

Dear Aspirant,

NO. For AIIMS and the competition there you can not think that 94 percentile is enough. Even 99 percentile is not enough if you are aiming for AIIMS Delhi. It is the most premier medical college in our country and to get there you have to be in top 30-50 rank holders.

Percentile shows from how many candidates you have performed better. So for example there are 100000 candidate in an exam and you have scored 99 percentile it means you have scored well than the 99% of the exam takers that is 99000 of them, so your rank will be 1000.

However, this procedure holds till 2019. From 2020 onwards new procedure is going to be introduced as the NEET and AIIMS are merged together. Now the admission procedure might shift from the percentile part to some other. We have not yet received any confirmation about that. But I believe you got the idea of how percentile works.

I hope you have got the idea. Thank you.
