Is a masters degree in English literature enough to apply for any job which requires postgraduates? I have done a bachelor's degree in English literature. So is a postgraduate degree in English literature useful to get a better paying job?
Hello,
It depends in which specific field are you interested in working, for example with PG and having completed BEd you can become eligible for PGT if you fulfill the eligibility criteria in terms of aggregate factors, age etc, so working in central government school as PGT teacher is highly lucrative,
in case you want to teach at university level, you can qualify UGC NET for lectureship, if you qualify JRF you can also pursue higher studies such as PhD, there are also state level SET exams for recruitment of assistant professor, these are quite good options after completion of pg degree,
other than this ed-tech sector is booming at incredibly large space, hence you can join as faculty teaching competitive exams pertaining to english, there is much scope in education sector pertaining to various domains which you can check out as per your interest, for that you can sign up with job portals, linkedin is the best option regarding this, you can also go for indeed, naukri.com etc,
other than this for UPSC, state PSCs, banking jobs for clerk/PO for SBI or IBPS, SSC, Railways, etc require only graduation in order to appear for these exams, pg isn't required in any of such case,
