As per the new decsion by NTA from 2019, Aadhar Card is not mandatory for UGC NET exam.

The UGC NET Exam will going to be conducted in the month of June this year of 7 days. The Exam will be on the following dates; 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 & 28th June 2019.
As per the new notification released by the NTA, Aadhar card is not mandatory, it is just a type of an identification card. You can use other identification cards like Ration Card, Passport, Bank account number or any other valid Government identity number for verification.
Exam forms are out and the last date to the form is 30th March 2019.
As we all know that from Dec 2018 National Testing Agency become the exam conducting body for the UGC NET exam on the place of CBSE.
The UGC NET 2019 Apply Online process has been started by the NTA from the 1 st March 2019 for UGC NET June 2019 session.
National Testing Agency has made some changes in the format of exam. It has released a notification related to Aadhaar card to fill the Application form also.
Candidates who are going to fill the application for the NET exam, have to know that from Dec 2018 Aadhar Card is no more mandatory. The Aadhar number is only one of the types of identification, it is not mandatory. Candidates can also use Passport number, Ration Card number, Bank Account number or any other valid Government identity number for identification.
The last date to apply for the exam is 30 th March 2019. So, hurry up and fill the form ASAP.
Dear Kadamb, now the Supreme Court has passed an order stating that Aadhar card is not a mandatory Id proof document for Educational purposes. And NTA also released a notification statingb that Aadhar card is not mandatory for UGC NET exams. So you can select an alternative Id proof and submit the same when asked.
