Its very interesting department in engineering.
Aerospace engineering has two branches:
# aeronautical engineering
# astronautical engineering
And there is one more engineering which is there is Avionics engineering , it deals with the electronics side of the aircraft.
Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the development of aircraft and spacecraft.
Aeronautical engineering , engineers work with aircraft. They primarily involve in designing the aircraft and propulsion systems and also they study about aerodynamics of aircraft and materials.
Astronautical engineering, they design aircraft,  spacecraft, missile and satellite. In addition,  the create and test prototypes to test and to make insure they work according to design.
