Is an MSc in theoretical physics in Madras University equivalent to an MSc in physics

Hello student,
As per my knowledge those two degrees are different. MSc in theoretical physics focuses on theoretical physics subjects and the total methodology and research of total modern theoretical mathematics and physics. The topics included can be supersymmetric field theories, string theory and quantum field theory.
On the other hand general MSc in physics is mainly focused on the core topics both about the theoretical and practicals etc. But as MSc in theoretical physics is just a sub branch of MSc in physics both are equivalent for applying any kinds of examination.
