St Xavier's College, Mumbai is one of old and renowned college in Mumbai. For admission in MSc Biotechnology or MSc in microbiology the admission is on merit basis. No entrance exam is conducted for this courses

The eligibility criteria for admission in MSc in Microbiology is candidate should have passed the B.Sc. (Three year integrated course) degree examination of Mumbai University with at least seven units (i.e. minimum required for majoring in a subject) in Microbiology or B.Sc. Microbiology from any other University.

The eligibility criteria for Msc in Biotechnology is candidate should have pursued B.Sc. Biotechnology (3-year integrated course) degree examination of Mumbai University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto, with at least 6 units in Biotech (i.e. minimum required for majoring in the subject) Or With three units in Biotechnology at the T.Y.B.Sc in combination with three units of any other major subject at the T.Y.B.Sc
