BA in journalism is usually taken-up by students who want to make a career in journalism.

Please be clear why you want to do journalism in first place. Is it the glamour that attracts you or the fame or flair for writing? Journalism is a very demanding profession, and requires creativity, so unless you are curious or have socialist bent of mind this will be exhaustive.

Journalism is a practical course, one with basic understanding about journalism course also can report. So theory has little importance.  Usually when you join a media organisation you are trained for a given period of time. Each media house have different ways of reporting a story. Be it print or broadcast.

People prefer doing a graduation in English or any social subject like political science, International affairs, history etc followed by diploma in journalism (after graduation).
