The scope of Bioinformatics in both Industry or Research in Indka is comparatively low, though nowadays you see many of the IITs working on Bioinformatics and similar domains. You may even plan a Masters or PhD abroad in Bioinformatics for better career scope and placement prospects.
After a Bachelors Degree in Physics, incase you are interested in Bioinformatics, Biophysics and similar interdisciplinary fields, first try getting a couple of Research Internships/Projects with some Professors from Top IITs or your Home Institutes. You may appear for GATE in Physics/Biotechnology (Do Check Requirements for Respective IITs, IISc Bangalore) followed by a M.Tech/MS from some of the Elite Research Institutions of India.
