is birth certificate mandatory for neet counselling??
NEET 2024: Cutoff (OBC, SC, ST & General Category)
NEET 2024 Admission Guidance: Personalised | Study Abroad
NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
It is not mandatory to carry your birth certificate to NEET counselling, the whole purpose of birth certificate is to proof your Age or DOB, so in place of birth certificate your aadhar card, 10th class marksheet or 12th class marksheet will go.
The documents required for neet counselling are:
1. NEET admit card
2. NEET score card
3. Class 10th certificate and marksheet
4. Class 12th certificate and marksheet
5. Any ID proof such as Aadhar card, pan card or passport
6. Eight passport size photographs
7. Provisional allotment letter
8. Caste certificate (if applicable)
9. PWD certificate (if applicable)

Hello Aspirant,
You can either use your Birth Certificate or the admit card issued during Class 10 Board Examination.
As far as the documents required during NEET Counselling is concerned, it has been clearly stated that there has to be a "Proof of Birth".
The Admit Card of Class 12 doesn't mention your date of birth and hence it isn't a valid document.
Any other document except these 2 mentioned above won't be accepted.
I suggest, better go with the Class 10 Admit Card, even I took admission in MBBS through the admit card and not birth certificate.
However, if asked about valid ID Proof, then you must have Aadhar Card as the most reliable proof.
Hope this helps you
All the best for your future
