Look , for being a food safety officer , you can apply in the following fields for instance :- You can pursue B Tech in Food Engineering , BSc food Science , BSc food Technology .
But you can also apply after completing you graduation degree in any science stream. Here Chemistry is the mandatory one..
Food Safety Officer is recruited by the State Government or the Central Government at an administrative post. The recruiting process is based on the State Civil Services (SCS) examination. A candidate must hold a Graduate Degree or a Master's Degree to appear for the SCS examination.
Eligibility criteria for Appearing in entrance exam for the same are- Candidate must be a at least graduation degree holder in the science stream . Chemistry is the mandatory for the same . Medical Graduates can also apply with at least one year of food Inspection training can also apply.
You can also apply for food safety officer after completing the Bachelors degree in B.Sc Biotechnology or Bio Chemistry and degree should be AICTE approved.

I am providing you with the eligibility criteria of nationality, age, academic for the food safety officer below.
Age Qualification:
The minimum age limit to apply for the post of OSSC Food Safety Officer is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 32 years. ( 5 years relaxation to SC, ST, Women candidates and 10 years relaxation to PwD candidates).
Nationality - A candidate must be a citizen of India.
Academics qualification:
A candidate must have passed bachelor's degree in Food Technology/Dairy Technology/Biotechnology/Oil Technology/Agricultural Science/Veterinary Science/Biochemistry/Microbiology or a Master’s degree in Chemistry or a degree in Medicine from AICTE-approved institute/recognized Board/State and Statutory University securing a minimum of 60% marks along with sufficient knowledge in Computer Applications.
