Hello Vijaya Lakshmi,
You are confused between bsc chemistry and engineering. Chemistry is a different field and engineering is a different field.
In engineering there are many different branches and the branch related to chemistry is chemical engineering. In engineering you will also learn many things about other branches of engineering while your main focus would be chemical engineering. In terms of getting knowledge and exposure, in chemical engineering you would learn how chemistry is applied in the field of technology and modern methods of applying chemistry. If we talk about the scope of chemical engineering, then there is a large scope in oil and mineral companies. You can even study further and go in the field of research also.
In bsc chemistry you will learn pure science. You will learn basic sciences and it's application. You will have an in depth knowledge about the elements and compounds and their reactions. You will be exposed to biology, physics, geology, etc. subjects related to science. If we talk about the scope, then just with a B.Sc degree you won't have a very large scope but if you get an M.Sc in chemistry then there is a large scope. Companies do consider a M.Sc post graduate at par with a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. After M.Sc you can also go in the field of research.
At last you have to think what you want to study. Engineering will take 4 years while a B.Sc and M.Sc will take 5 years. In the end you would get in same kind of company. There is nothing as bsc chemistry is better or engineering is better. It all depends upon your choice what you want to study.
All the best.
