Hello,

Yes, of course  candidates who pursue BSc Geography  from a recognized university are eligible to appear for UPSC CSE, as graduation in any discipline from a recognized university is acceptable.

you need to appear for this exam in order to secure IPS Post, and qualify the same, the posting will depend on your preference and ranking for the examination, there is considerable level of overlap of geography syllabus to that of General Studies in Mains and Prelims, and moreover you can also have it as an optional subjects, you also need to attain 21 years age as on 1st August of the appearing year, the maximum age limit is 32 for general category, exam is conducted in three phases mainly prelims, mains and interview.

To become an IPS officer you need to clear UPSC civil services examination

Yes, you are eligible for UPSC civil services examination with BSc Geography degree and  after qualifying it you can become an IPS officer

This is because,

To be eligible for UPSC examination there's no need to be a graduate in a particular discipline,  all you need to be is a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university be it  BSc geography or any  other graduation course.

So, you don't worry with Bsc Geography degree you will be eligible for UPSC

*You  must  have  a  bachelor's  degree in any, discipline    from a  recognised university.

*Minimum  age  limit :-  you  need to  be at least  21  years  old   to be  eligible.
